As I’m sitting here watching the Saints game, I’m slowly editing some photos from yesterday’sSt Roch cemeteryshoot. My dad and I had a few hours to kill before the LSU game on Saturday, yes…I watch a lot of football…., and chose to visit St Roch Cemetery and Lake Lawn Cemetery. The light wasn’t exactly ideal because they open the gates at 830 and the sun was already getting high. But the experience was incredible. St Roch is small and the tombs aren’t as glamorous as Lake Lawn’s but the shrine…the shrine is what makes this cemetery so magical. Within the St Roch chapel there is a little shrine room full of gifts to the saint. These gifts consist of prosthetic legs, arms, eyes, stone hearts, skulls, children’s dolls, etc. So many of them were ages old and were so full of texture. I shot plenty but want more!…

Some St Roch Cemetery Shots

I plan on bringing Steph and Chloe and will shoot with my macro next time to get a different feel in the photos. Here are just a few from our trip. I’ll edit more once the Saints WIN!

New Orleans Cemeteries and Magazine

Today my dad and I hit the St Roch Cemetery in New Orleans and Lake Lawn Cemetery in Metairie to shoot. And it was such a beautiful, fall day in Louisiana! (finally) Unfortunately, some great games are on right now and I must stay away from editing what I captured. Here is one shot though from the shrine room that was full of old and new prosthetic legs, arms, eyes, etc. I will try to finish editing tomorrow and Monday. Till then….keep creating!

Darkness

Since I’ve moved to Louisiana, I have not really shot too many dark, dramatic images involving myself or other people. Seems I’ve been really focused on fleshing out my Louisiana project. Really wanting to take a little break and come up with some new ideas for deep images. Here are a few from previous projects. (Kevin, my brother, is in quite a few)

Sitting here in front of the computer while listening to the news…..and figured I might as well edit and post some photos. Each one has taken forever for I keep looking at the tv to watch the updates on Hurricane Sandy. Hope everyone up there stays safe and dry. Word.

Halloween Weekend!!!

Oh yes! The best holiday of the year is coming up! Costumes, fall foods and lots of lots of brew! Unfortunately, Halloween falls on a Wednesday and I have work at the clinic early the next day. So this weekend we are gonna rock it in the N.O. with costumes and good friends. In the spirit of upcoming Halloween, I’m gonna post a blog that consist of some graveyard images I’ve collected over the year. They were primarily shot at Lake Lawn in Metairie and Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta. Take a peek and BEHAVE yourselves this weekend!
