The Barataria Adventure

So word…yesterday’s hike at the Barataria Preserve south of New Orleans was epic! We saw so many alligators, snakes, gar fish and insects….cypress, wildflowers and bayou vegetation! It was a photographer’s dream come true! I will also mention that Stephanie’s daughter Chloe was thrilled with the trip! She was running around chasing dragonflies and crickets…as well as hiding behind us when a snake or alligator appeared on the trail! Ya’ll should have heard her scream when a moccasin slithered right by her! Hilarious! She also paniced when I got off the trail and encouraged a gator onto the land so I could get some decent shots. She kept pulling at us saying, “Guys I think we should go! Let’s get out of here!” Haha! Again…epic! I am highly recommending this place to everyone. Couples, loners, kids and kids and kids! They will love every minute of it. There was sooo much to see and do….and as usual when hiking and shooting at a beautiful place…we ran out of time. So as we drove back home through the city we agreed that we would return in a week or so and this time try to bring others. This is truly a gem that we have to share!
